The Process of Letting Go
This painting is quite meaningful to me as it depicts the Ban Gioc Waterfall in Vietnam. I wanted to include a piece in my portfolio that represented my culture and where my family originated from. I decided to paint the waterfalls specifically, as they are a familiar symbol for letting go. This concept is significant to me as I have always believed in the continuous flow of energy and life. Everything can remain everlasting and eternal, as long as one stays optimistic and hopeful about the future.
Miles Away
"Miles Away" is one of my most experimental pieces. This started out as a 12" x 12" acrylic canvas painting however evolved into a mixed media piece. I tried to capture the beauty of the northern lights while adding my own flare with digital calligraphy on top. I've always loved the saying "roam far and wander wide" and what better to illustrate such a charming quote than in different mediums of art!
